How to evaluate the heat dissipation efficiency of aluminum Heat Sink?

2025 04/24

1.By experimentally measuring the thermal resistance of Heat Sink under given conditions, the smaller the thermal resistance, the higher the heat dissipation efficiency of Heat Sink.
2. Heat transfer coefficient, meaning heat transfer coefficient, is the ratio of the amount of heat passing through the Heat Sink per unit time to the surface area of the Heat Sink. The larger the heat transfer coefficient, the stronger the ability of the radiator to transfer heat at a unit temperature difference, and the higher the heat dissipation efficiency.
3. Thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity, the heat transfer coefficient of Heat Sink is determined through experiments, which represents the ratio of the heat transferred through the radiator per unit time and per unit area to the temperature difference. Thermal diffusivity refers to the product of the amount of heat that a material can diffuse per unit time, the unit area, thickness, and temperature difference of the material. The larger the heat transfer coefficient, the stronger the ability of Heat Sink to transfer heat at a unit temperature difference, and the higher the heat dissipation efficiency
4. Evaluation of material thermal conductivity: Although aluminum itself has good thermal conductivity, the thermal conductivity of aluminum with different purities and alloy compositions may also vary. You can understand the thermal conductivity of the aluminum material used by consulting the material specifications or conducting material thermal conductivity tests, and compare it with the standard value to evaluate its impact on heat dissipation efficiency.
